'Detroit-focused lifestyle' retailer Urbanum opens in New Center


Detroit Free Press: Urbanum, a new Detroit-focused lifestyle and gift retailer, has recently opened in New Center, and to celebrate will host a housewarming party to benefit the nonprofit Humble Design on Oct. 24, the retailer said in a news release.

Curbed Detroit: Another storefront along Woodward Avenue in New Center is now open, bringing with it some much needed retail options for home decor, furniture, and accessories in the city. Urbanum has recently opened along the corridor, one of many new businesses set to open in New Center.

Detroit Free Press: A new independently-owned furniture and home decor store that will sell one-of-a-kind antique finds along with current styles is scheduled to open in Detroit's Midtown in early spring.

New Midtown shop Urbanum hosting housewarming party

Joining FOX 2 is Detroit resident-turned-shopkeeper Brigid Beaubien to talk about her new venture Urbanum.

There will be a housewarming party 5:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. October 24 at 6545 Woodward Avenue, Midtown Detroit.



Urbanum Grand Opening 2018


Hour Magazine: On Oct. 24, Detroit-based home retailer Urbanum held their grand opening, housewarming celebration at their Woodward Avenue location. Sales from the event benefited Humble Design, a nonprofit that supports families that are relocating from homeless shelters to homes by providing furnishing, as well as design services.
